Erika Petras (Petras)

I got to know Renard many years after we graduated from Nicolet.  He was a good and loyal friend to my brother-in-law. Renard was a true gentleman, with never a bad word to say about anyone else.  He loved his wife, his family, his friends, cars and was a true foodie.  He had a great memory and a kind spirit. Renard died following a courageous battle with cancer.  He is missed by his family and friends.

Renard was my friend all through grade school.  He was one of the only other boys who was interested in cars and trucks like I was, and we spent many afternoons at each other's houses.  For as long as I remember, Renard's ambition was to drive big trucks.  I believe that he was able to live out that dream.  The last time I spoke with him was in 1993, and he was working as a driver, although it seemed to me that the reality was a bit different than he thought it would be.   He spoke often of his older brother Ryan, who became a Flight For Life chopper pilot after taking flying lessons in his teens.  We had good fun Renard, sorry to see you go Mate.  Please tell your Mom I said thanks for being such a great and kind lady to me.
